BTR is a subcommittee of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce and the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), and is dedicated to helping businesses and individuals prepare for, survive, and recover from all kinds of emergencies and disasters. “Unfortunately, these events usually don’t give us much notice, so being prepared often means the difference between losing your personal property or business, and being able to survive such an event,” said Ott.
Previous BTR programs include FBI presentations on cyber-crime, internet security, prevention of identity theft, personal safety, business crime, strategies for reducing online banking risk, Red Cross information, recovery case studies from a business disaster expert, a representative from the Virus Doctor, a panel of computer experts, presentations by the Harris County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and representatives from the Tomball Regional Medical Center, Tomball Fire and Police Departments, Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Constables Office.
