The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is excited to present its first-ever Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival on Saturday, October 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held outdoors on the grounds of the museum, the Pearl’s celebration will include a live performance by Houston Aztec Dance, hands-on art activities, face painting, scavenger hunts and more. Guests can also learn how and why ofrendas are created, and honor ancestors on a temporary chalk memorial. Everyone is encouraged to wear a costume and the community is warmly invited to attend. Admission is free. Following the festival, a concert will be held at 4 p.m. in the Main Gallery of the museum. Guests will enjoy vocal, piano and cello selections for the Day of the Dead, All Saints Day, and Halloween. Concert tickets are $35 for museum members and $45 for non-members.
