This course fulfills the minimum hours of educational and proficiency requirements by Texas Department of Public Safety to apply for a carry license. Topics discussed include laws relating to weapons and the use of deadly force, handgun use and safety, non-violent dispute resolution, and proper storage practices. There will also be a written exam and a firearms proficiency exam, which will be conducted at a firearms range. Eye and ear protection will be available, as well as firearms. Student will need to purchase ammunition for proficiency exam (50 rounds). Fee for license paid to the state will vary depending on age and military status.
