Celebration of Dance 2022 features the well-known Les Sylphides, a non-narrative reverie ballet, set to the music of Frederic Chopin; Flower Festival by August Bournonville, a springtime classical ballet in the Danish style; Pressed, a modern piece choreographed by JoDee Engle, which poses the question “Which the unceasing pressures that continuously surround us, is it possible to stay true to our authentic selves?”; Riviera Holiday, an original ballet by Kristy Nilsson, about a Jazz Age vacation, filled with fun, sun and romance. Inspired by Bronislava Nijinska’s Le Train Bleu.
