Tomball Economic Development Director Recognized as 2018 Top 50 Economic Developer
The Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) announced today that its Executive Director, Kelly Violette, has been named to the 2018 list of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers. The list is developed each year by Consultant Connect, a consulting agency designed to bridge the gap between economic developers and site consultants.
“This annual list recognizing North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers is designed to acknowledge the hard work of the top leaders in this field and elevate the conversation around economic development and job creation,” said Ron Kitchens, managing partner of Consultant Connect. “Each of the leaders represented on this year’s list are beyond deserving of this recognition for their efforts in building our communities.”The economic development professionals selected for the list were nominated by their colleagues in both the economic development industry and the site consultant community for excellent practices, innovation, and success in building the communities they serve.
“I am honored and humbled to join this list of outstanding recipients, many of whom I have long admired and respected”, said Kelly Violette. “I share this achievement with my amazing team and our dedicated partners who work tirelessly to create economic opportunities and strengthen the Tomball community.”
As Executive Director, Violette works to expand the tax base and bring quality jobs to the community through business retention and attraction efforts. Under her leadership, the TEDC has been successful in facilitating numerous noteworthy projects in Tomball, including the Tomball
Business & Technology Park, the redevelopment of the Four Corners Commercial Center, and the Baker Hughes Western Hemisphere Education Center.
Each top 50 Economic Developer will be featured individually from September 17 through November 30 through the selected social media channels of LinkedIn and Twitter. Each of the award winners will share their expertise in the field and a few leadership insights they’ve learned along the way. The recipients will receive their awards at Consultant Connect’s ECONOMIX event in Nashville this December.
